Another promising talent steps up to first team

Droitwich Spa FC are pleased to announce another new addition to the first team.

17-year old Harry Griffiths signed first team forms recently, after continuing his excellent performances for the Development side in the West Midlands Regional League Division 1 and the Under 18's in the Midland Floodlit Youth League South.

The pacey forward has found the back of the net a total of 13 times in 17 appearances this campaign, also contributing 10 assists.

First team Manager Andy Crowther has been following "Griff's" progress, and after also impressing in training over recent weeks, the youngster signed on to give The Saltmen further attacking options.

Upon signing for the first team, Harry spoke to dsfc.news:
"I've played for John Neeson in the Under 18's and more recently the Development team for just over 2 years now.
Im really excited about signing for the first team and I'm really enjoying my football at the moment.
I've been working hard both on and off the pitch, so to sign for them shows that my hard work is paying off and is being recognised."

The Under 18's are unbeaten in the League so far this season, and the Development side are 9th having transitioned to adult football for the first time in 2024-25.

Already this season, as well as last season,we have seen Youth players be decisive in first team matches.
Both Danny Barnes and Woody Hawkett have two senior goals to their names, whilst Will Dallaway, Joe Neeson, Joe Hurdman & Liam Livesey have also made appearances and not disappointed.

The following players currently part of the Development set-up are signed on to play for the first team:

  • Joe Neeson
  • Will Dallaway
  • Jesse Asomugha
  • Rohan Levy

We congratulate latest addition Harry on signing and look forward to seeing him, and his team mates stake a claim for a place in the first team in the near future!
